Is your unit entitled to send a voting delegate to the SWO Fall Gathering?
Membership in the Florida-Bahamas Synodical Women’s Organization requires a Unit to submit its constitution or an Affirmation of Membership form to the SWO and to support the SWO through regular offerings. In order to be considered an active unit and to have a voting delegate at the SWO Fall Gathering at Lake Yale on November 9-11, 2012, all church units must have a constitution that has been updated since 2002 OR an Affirmation of Membership on file with the SWO President by October 15th, 2012. If your constitution has not been updated since 2008, check the constitution models below to see the additions voted upon at the 2008 Triennial that should be added to yours. There are .doc and .pdf versions below. The content is the same. Your unit name and other particulars can be easily put in the doc version and then printed. These can also be used by new units. Also, these same forms of the approved Model Constitution and Bylaws for the Congregational or Intercongregational Unit are located at www.womenoftheelca.org. Click on “Join Us” on the left hand side of the page. Clicking on “What is an Active Unit?” will provide definitions and clicking on “Form a Group” will provide a model constitution. The Affirmation of Membership is attached below with complete information as well. Please contact SWO President Linda Greilick by email at lindag65@verizon.net or by phone if you need to determine whether your unit has an updated constitution or Affirmation of Membership on file. Your updated constitution or the Affirmation of Membership should be sent to SWO President. Offerings should be submitted to SWO Treasurer. |
